This past week I got a chance to help monitor the PSAE/ACT test at my old stompin’ grounds–Pontiac High School. During my stay I took the opportunity to reconnect with several old acquaintances, including one who told me of the great care he had received in his therapy following surgery last fall from Champion Fitness Physical Therapy. Naturally, that made me feel pretty good since he was singing the praises of my new fellow workers. He went on to tell me of another individual who, for one reason or another, came out of a surgical procedure and received no direction regarding any therapy whatsoever. Now that individual is, for lack of a better word, “struggling” to get around without pain.
What many people don’t understand is that the choice for physical therapy in any situation lies with YOU the individual who needs it. Naturally, you may get suggestions from doctors or clinicians to use one place or another because of an affiliation with a certain locale, but in no way are you required to follow their lead. The secret is for you to find the right place, the right atmosphere, the right therapist, the most convenient scheduling, the best chance for you to make the type of recovery you feel you can and need to make. Just like choosing a dentist or a beautician or even a mechanic, the number one factor in making that decision involves TRUST. Right behind also have to be HONESTY and INTEGRITY. All of these qualities are important.
Of course, I was pleased that my friend at PTHS had chosen Champion Fitness Physical Therapy for his care. What makes more sense, though, is that HE knew he had made a correct decision in his quest to “Get Busy Living!” again. He was the one who had to choose; now he’s back doing things he was doing before he started with much more ease and comfort. That’s the result you want when choosing physical therapy.
I just wish we could have told that other individual of his options. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. Remember, it’s your choice!
